Clincal Nurse Specialist- Chronic Disease
This role will work with our Oncology service line to drive optimization in our care delivery model. We are looking for someone who is independent, collaborative, trustworthy, outgoing and who has a strong clinical foundation. This is a great opportunity to be in a true CNS role, working in an autonomous work environment with strong leadership support in an organization that has a solid desire to align with Evidence-Based Practice. JOB SUMMARY: Collaborate and consult in the management of complex oncology patient and family care by demonstrating clinical expertise within Chronic Disease Care through the integration of advanced skills, knowledge, competencies, and practice. Introduce and utilize evidence-based practice, standards of care, and research to transform practice within the workforce and organization to enhance quality, cost effectiveness and efficiency. Facilitate change that is diverse and sensitive to the internal/external needs of the organization. Foster professional performance and influence healthcare initiatives to generate positive patient outcomes. Upholds professional standards of nursing practice as determined by the NCBON, the specialty practice organization that represents the practice area and the American Nurses Association Standards for Nursing Professional Development (2010). Exemplifies the mission and vision for Mission Hospital, Nursing, and the Department of Nursing Practice, Education and Research.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Master's Degree in Nursing.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Mas MN, MSN, DNS, or PhD in Nursing; Certification in specialty area by recognized national nursing organization; North Carolina Board of Nursing CNS recognition
REQUIRED LICENSE: Current licensure as Registered Nurse with North Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state as defined by NC Board of Nursing
PREFERRED LICENSE: National certification as a clinical nurse specialist
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years of recent clinical nursing experience in designated or related specialty
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Preferred experience in emergency medicine, cardiac services or intensive care. Effective speaker before large and small groups. Proven ability to work autonomously and in collaboration with other health care providers, students, instructors, and leaders.
