Job Summary: The Stroke Program Data Analyst is responsible for the identification of patients with a diagnosis meeting Stroke criteria, abstracts charts for stroke registry information, and assures accurate coding of the diagnoses and procedures utilizing ICD-codes. Maintains the Stroke Registries and all quality assurance issues related to stroke for Mission Hospital . Works in collaboration with various medical, clinical and administrative staff to achieve desired outcomes and compliance with evidence based practice, requirements from The Joint Commission (TJC), CMS and other accrediting bodies. Assists in developing processes, systems and educational strategies to improve outcomes.
Required Education: Baccalaureate degree
Preferred Education: National certification Stroke Certified RN

Required Experience: 2-3 years acute clinical experience
Preferred Experience: 1 year of clinical experience specific to stroke care patients, care management, utilization management, or quality improvement experience. Computer skills including proficiency in Data Entry, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
