The Department of Psychiatry and Psychology, within the Neurological Institute of the Cleveland

Clinic, is currently recruiting an Adult psychiatrist to provide psychiatric services at our inpatient

psychiatric hub hospital Akron General in Akron, Ohio. Candidates should be board certified by the

ABPN. ECT certification is highly desired and expertise in geriatric psychiatry is welcomed.

We seek a dynamic and flexible mind set candidate, who is invested in coming to the Cleveland Clinic

to learn, to teach, to investigate, and to advance their career, while nurturing current and new

service lines and opportunities.

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Inpatient psychiatry service line consists of a new 26 bed psychiatric

unit, supported by a strong department and hospital leadership, experienced inpatient psychiatry

colleagues, robust APP, SW, and nursing clinicians, responsive medical / surgical consultants, and a

Level 1 trauma center emergency department.

Akron General offers the full spectrum of psychiatric services, including on site Outpatient psychiatry

clinics, Psychiatric Treatment Resistant Program (PTRP), ECT and TMS service, Consultation-Liaison

(CL) psychiatry, Women's Behavioral Health, Psychology services, and mood disorder and chemical

dependency intensive outpatient programs (IOP). Advanced therapeutics of esketamine and IV

ketamine are expected to open in Q1 of 2026.

Akron General is also the site of its own Adult Psychiatry Residency Program, with the expectation

that the staff candidate will be working with residents and medical students. Academic and

research opportunities exist, both at the Cleveland and Akron Department of Psychiatry and

Psychology campuses, and an academic affiliation with the CCLCM of CWRU is highly encouraged.

In addition to the inpatient psychiatry practice, the interested candidate is expected to develop 2

half-day outpatient psychiatry clinics, focusing on bridge clinic follow up visits, and IOP referrals.

Weekend obligatory call is 1 in 8 weekends.

**Pay Range**

Minimum salary: $256,000

Maximum salary: $358,250
