**HR Background Lead**

**Description**

HR Background Lead ensure processing, compliance, reporting, and vendor relationship management for the total North American enterprise in the area of background, MVR, drug screening, and credit check of all candidates joining the company\. Working with the third\-party provider on support, technology, billing, SLA’s are critical to the success of this function\.

**Essential Functions:**

+ Manage the overall North American process of Background Checks, MVR, Drug Testing, and Credit Check for candidates, associates, managers, and internal partners\.

+ Support and maintain multiple adjudication matrices and manage the company review portion of the check which includes decision\-making and documentation\.

+ Proactively research and continuously learn trends, regulations and changes that have impact to the company check process

+ Manage the third\-party vendor relationship which includes holding them accountable to agreed\-upon SLA’s, working with them on escalations, downtime of their system etc\.

+ Run reporting and analytics from ATS and Third\-Party Vendor as required to share success areas, and trends finding opportunities for improvement\.

+ Collaborate with system product owners on integrations between ATS and third\-party vendor\(s\)\.

+ Partner with internal legal on high risk cases, compliance matters and other topics as required with the over\-arching goal to mitigate complaints and litigation as a result of the background and drug test process\.

+ Train key partners such as Talent Operation Coordinators on processes, service levels and improvement areas\.

+ Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**

**Requirements:**

+ High School Diploma/GED

+ Bachelor’s degree preferred

+ 2\-3 years of relevant work experience

+ Some Experience may be substituted for some of the above education

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:**

+ Knowledge of compliance for USA/Canada, State/Province, County and City regulations in background checks and drug testing\.

+ Ability to review a process and identify and implement improvements Effective communication, presentation, and facilitation skills\.

+ Understanding of how HR and Applicant Tracking systems function in conjunction with a third\-party vendor Advanced writing, editing and proofreading skills; attention to detail\.

+ Ability to maintain highest confidentiality level\.

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills timelines\.

+ Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

+ Ability to run reports and look at data and find trends for business insights and decision making\.

+ Sound judgment skills, knowing how to follow a process and the right moment to escalate a matter to the right person
