PRIMARY CUSTOMERS, PARTNERS, AND TEAM:

At Adventist University of Health Sciences (ADU), our primary customers are students, faculty, staff and patients. Our partners are physicians, allied health clinicians, and other employees of Florida Hospital.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Graduate Campus Adjuncts are employed by the University to teach didactic courses which are offered on campus to graduate students. Graduate Campus Adjuncts develop, design and deliver instruction in collaboration with the course coordinator. Reviews and assists with revisions as needed for department policies and procedures. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Ability to clearly communicate and explain complex clinical topics

• Ability to work with an ethnically diverse student body

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

• None

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree

• Must have a degree at or above the degree level of the course being taught, from a regionally-accredited academic institution

• Meet standards set by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges and Universities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• None

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

• Current, or eligibility for, licensure in the State of Florida as a physical therapist

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

• None

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates behaviors at Adventist University of Health Sciences in harmony with the "Four Words" Nurture, Excellence, Spirituality, and Stewardship.

• Teaches in the classroom and laboratory settings of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.

• Grades examinations and assignments. Reviews evaluations with students, meets all established deadlines set by the University for testing assignments and grades submissions.

• Participates in the development and implementation of new instructional experiences.

• Develops individualized learning objectives.

• Provides feedback to students regarding competencies and professional behavior.

• Continues to develop as faculty member of the college through advanced studies, research and writing

• Performs other duties as assigned
