Position Summary
Open Call for Visiting Adjuncts in Dance
The dance minor at UNC Asheville prepares students to have a developed knowledge of their bodies as dancers and to be collegiate dance-makers who are connected to a question-based approach to research in movement and writing. Importantly the dance minor helps students articulate their voices in the world through a burgeoning dialogue between dance movement practices, engaged scholarship and creative processes.
We are currently seeking visiting adjuncts to teach a range of one to two classes per semester as needed in the following areas; Modern Dance, Contemporary Dance, Caribbean and African Forms and Dance Studies. All of our courses are hybrid and we seek candidates willing to adapt to this model.
Minimum Requirements: Candidates must have an MA or MFA in dance and professional experience as dance artists in the field or ABD or Ph.D with professional dance experience preferred. Some national or international experience in choreographic practice is of interest to our courses. Preference will be given to candidates who have extensive postgraduate school university teaching experiences and professional profiles teaching nationally or internationally.
