PRIMARY CUSTOMERS, PARTNERS, AND TEAM:

At Adventist University of Health Sciences (ADU), our primary customers are students, faculty, and staff. Our partners are physicians, allied health clinicians and other employees of Florida Hospital

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Coordinates Tutoring program and supervises student tutoring staff, for Nursing, Radiography, Occupational Therapy, Sonography and General Education Students.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Ability to function both independently and interdependently in changing situations

• Ability to adapt to new software and hardware

• Working knowledge of higher education environment

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Radiology, Health Sciences or related field

• Two years' experience working in the specific discipline

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• Master's degree in Nursing, Radiology or Health Sciences or related field

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

• State Licensure in the clinical discipline in which the employee tutors for Nursing, Radiography and Occupational Therapy

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:



PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates behaviors at Adventist University of Health Sciences in harmony with the "Four Words" Nurture, Excellence, Spirituality, and Stewardship

• Conducts individualized and group student tutoring for nursing students

• Evaluates students for best tutoring placement

• Ensures student awareness of tutoring program's applicable policies

• Participates with Student Services team to develop tutoring support services

• Develops "Best Practice" in the tutoring process

• Evaluates and implements learning resources and aids to enhance the tutoring program

• Develops and conducts in-service education for General Education tutoring staff

• Acknowledges organizational structure when providing feedback

• Recommends needed equipment purchases to the supervisor

• Fosters spiritual growth of faculty, staff and students in the department through application of spiritual values though leadership and influence

• Other duties as assigned
