Job Summary
Performs duties of moderate to high complexity, judgment, and scope. Analyzes accounts and reports, prepares and reviews reconciliations, journal entries, and troubleshoots problem areas and makes recommendations for improving and implementing procedures. Ensures the efficient operation of the department including supervision of staff, special projects and resolution of problems and questions from management.

Essential Functions
  • Prepares assigned recurring and non-recurring journal entries and reviews journal entries made by the staff according to the policy for the month-end closing process.
  • Answers questions from leadership concerning variances on performance reports or directs questions to the appropriate individual(s).
  • Performs reviews, analyses, researches, and other related duties independently.
  • Assists in coordinating and planning month-end responsibilities with various departments.
  • Trains managers on all new acquisitions and cash management procedures.
  • Maintains and examines departmental policy and procedures manual making recommendations for improvements.
  • Evaluates accounting systems and procedures and suggests ways to improve output and efficiency.
  • Analyzes issues related to financial statement presentation, reimbursement, and other GAAP technical issues.
  • Ensures compliance to all federal regulations system wide.
Physical Requirements
Work requires lifting, moving reports and notebooks weighing up to 10 pounds. Must have the ability to sit for prolonged periods of time and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance is required. 1 or 2 years of related work experience is preferred.
