POSITION SUMMARY:

To assist the Admin Director of Quality (Market) in implementation of all aspects of the Quality Management Program including the identification of opportunities to improve patient care, and is responsible for the management, supervision and daily operation of the Quality Management Department. To provide leadership and be a role model for the staff of the Quality Management Department.

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:


Required: Bachelor’s Degree with preference given to Nursing, Quality Management or Healthcare Administration or ten years + experience in healthcare quality and patient safety.

Preferred: Master’s degree in healthcare, nursing, quality or business. Advanced training in Quality.


LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Current licensure in State of Texas

Certification in Healthcare Quality and/or preferred


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:

Required: 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience

Background in Health Information Management, Case Management, or Quality Management

Understanding of healthcare environment and strong project management skills

Thorough knowledge of quality principles, theories and tools .

Data analysis and statistical background knowledge

Excellent people skills and presentation skills are required

Preferred: 5-7 years experience in strategic planning, performance improvement in an organization to include implementing quality initiatives. HCA Experience a major plus; understanding of JCHO regulatory requirements

Advanced degree in the fields mentioned above

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

Understanding of quality principles, theories and tools.

Data analysis and statistical background required.

Ability to perform computerized analyses and use data management, word processing, and presentation software as required.

Understanding of healthcare environment and strong project management skills are necessary for this position. Understanding of clinical information, organizational behavior and group dynamics helpful.

Ability to interact effectively with a variety of professions and persons.

Comfortable and skilled at working with physicians, health care providers, and other stakeholders in the organization. Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to perform detailed, concentrated work with limited supervision.

Ability to identify issue and initiate improvements.
