About Our Opportunity
We are currently hiring a full-time, seasonal Sport Support Staff II/Tennis Court Assistants to join the Parks and Recreation Department summer staff. This person will supervise the facility in the absence of the Manager, take in fees, assigns courts, maintains courts, and performs maintenance tasks.  They will also assist the Manager in tennis programming.

Work Schedule: Varies daily, between 8 am-10 pm weekdays, some weeknights, some weekends, some holidays.

This position is a temporary/seasonal position. This position will NOT be eligible for benefits, paid leave time (vacation, sick, holiday) nor participation in the retirement system.  

This position is open until filled with an initial application review beginning on January 27th. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintains crowd control at Center.
  • Accepts court fees.
  • Sells concession items.
  • Assigns courts.
  • Performs maintenance tasks.
  • Assists in tennis programming.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Some experience in the supervision of a facility.
  • Some knowledge of clay courts.
  • Some experience working with the general public.
  • Some experience with the sport of a tennis preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Working Conditions Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of the game of tennis.
  • Some knowledge of clay courts.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and the general public.
  • Ability to lift at least 75 pounds and perform maintenance duties.
  • Ability to handle money.
