The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for supporting the University's annual fund/giving goals and objectives by planning, managing, and executing the University's annual fundraising solicitations and communication efforts. The Director achieves this by utilizing multi-channel communication methods of social media, email, mail, telephone, and face to face to seek financial gifts from the University's prospective donors, including alumni, friends, parents, faculty/staff, and students who make gifts below $25,000.
The Director is responsible for drafting and maintaining the annual production plan on behalf of the constituent programs to address all Annual Fund and solicitation needs.
The Director will collaborate with department heads within the division and across campus, as appropriate, to develop and implement communication plans to engage and solicit their specific audiences.
Bachelor's degree and equivalent combination of training and experience. One to three years of direct fundraising experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
- Experience with effective multi-channel solicitation and/or communication strategy
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices.
- Project management and organizational skills.
- A commitment to staying educated on trends and new technologies necessary to grow the Annual Giving program.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated success in planning and executing successful fundraising campaigns and/or communication projects.
- Ability to clearly articulate the mission, vision, and values of the University.
- Knowledge of UNC Asheville's history, traditions and program.
