Job Description

Position Summary
This position will assist in the care provided to a college population by physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses. Sets up exam rooms, checks in patients, takes vital signs, documents in the electronic medical record, assists with waived laboratory testing, draws blood and takes specimens, educates patients, cleans and prepares exam rooms, and other administrative duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience/Skills
High School Education/ GED or equivalent
Basic Life Support ( BLS ) Health Care Provider certification: Required
Phlebotomy certificate: Required
Nursing Assistant/Medical Assistant certification: Required

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
2-4 years' experience working in an outpatient primary clinic
1-3 years working with adolescents and young adults

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures in routine primary care
Knowledge of medical procedures and terminology
Ability to provide personal care to patients
Ability to develop maintain personal relationships with patients by listening and understanding, and responding to identified needs.
Ability to work as a team player in a multi-disciplinary healthcare staff.
Ability to deliver services in an organized and methodical manner
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Ability to convey information clearly and concisely either verbally or in writing
Ability to listen and respond appropriately to others.
