Job Description

This is a sales focused position requiring 100% of their time to be spent on direct sales related duties.

Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels (Global Sales Offices, Rep. Firms, etc..) to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complimentary and not duplicative
  • Responds to incoming group leads of 50 rooms or less peak within a 24 hour timeframe (unless a lead is received on a Friday and the response must be back to the client by Monday Noon their time)
  • All leads must be presented at the daily DBR (Daily Business Review) with a complete DBR sheet and signed off on by the DOGS, ADOGS or DOS/M. If a lead needs to be responded to ASAP, then a DBR sheet will be presented to one of the above and signed off on and then presented to the client.
  • Participates in one on one meetings monthly with the ADOGS and DOGS: Discuss their production from their market/territory, what companies are booking and why, what areas or companies are on the hit list for the next 30 - 60 days for prospecting and site inspections and why. The SM must have an in-depth knowledge and total grasp on their market and be able to share that knowledge with the ADOGS and DOGS to fine tune the Strategic plan that was outlined at the beginning of the year and to tweak it monthly to maximize room night and revenue production from the prospective sales managers territory and or market.
  • Proactively identifies, qualifies, and solicits new business to achieve personal and resort revenue goals
  • Closes the best opportunities for the Resort based on the market conditions and hotel needs
  • Understands the overall market in which they sell (i.e.: competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc.)
  • Effectively manage and develop relationships with key internal and external customers, ensuring a high degree of customer satisfaction
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, site inspections, etc.
  • Effectively uses sales resources and administrative/staff support
  • Generates contracts and creative proposals to meet customer needs
  • Provides accurate, complete, and effective turnover to conference services
  • Can develop clear and effective market plans and action steps
  • Possesses effective communication skills
  • Presents ideas, expectations and information in a concise, well organized manner
  • Continues communications with group contacts before, during and after all meetings to encourage rebook of business or to solicit other business within account.
  • Manager may be required to entertain outside of business hours.
  • Represent Omni Hotels & Resort La Costa Resort and Spa at functions which are related to the sales and marketing efforts of Omni Hotels & Resort La Costa Resort and Spa
  • Conduct site inspections, familiarization trips and other related functions to develop potential group business
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards while representing Omni Hotels & Resort La Costa Resort and Spa
  • Maintain a thorough understanding and direct knowledge of Omni La Costa Resort and Spa primary competitors
  • Achieve room night and revenue sales goals presented for each quarter on a consistent basis.


Qualifications

  • Position requires that candidate have at least an associates degree, bachelors degree preferred, and/or three years or more of hotel sales experience.
  • Delphi Experience preferred.
