I. Position Summary: The Admin Director of Clinical Operatoins is responsible for ensuring high quality nursing care across the hospital. . The position is responsible for attaining all quality, throughput metrics and uses various dashboards including NDNQI and Nursing EcoSystem. She/ he is responsible for using the Units of Distinction toolkits to improve the professional practice environment and nursing sensitive outcomes. The Director participates in strategic planning, financial forecasting and recruitment and retention initiatives, and other aspects of patient care delivery at the direction of the CNO. This individual manages the financial and capital budgets to ensure services meet established quality standards and develops solutions and action plans to address any efficiency, quality and cost issues. This individual is responsible for monitoring and improving processes related to medication diversion prevention. Embraces and consistently demonstrates Rose Medical Center care initiatives, encompassing both patients and employees.
The Nurse Director performs duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care at Rose Medical Center. The Director displays positive support for the values and mission of Rose Medical Center. Provides care for and supervises care of the adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.
II. Position Requirements:
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: RN License in the State of Colorado. Compact license acceptable but must obtain Colorado state license within 90 days of hire. Specialty certification strongly recommended.
B. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelors in nursing required. Masters in Nursing, Business or Health Administration is required.
C. Experience: Minimum of 5 years nursing experience required. Minimum of 2 years management experience required.
D. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates understanding of health care from an organizational system perspective. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the nursing theory and practice. Demonstrates the ability to plan and provide for delivery of nursing services. Ability to recognize the needs and concerns of customers and staff and to maintain constructive relationships in dealing with them. Responsible for counseling and guidance of personnel. Ability to assume twenty-four hour responsibility for integration of patient care. Recognized personal responsibility in striving for innovative health care delivery that meets contemporary needs and assumes leadership in negotiating for changes in health care. Communicates effectively (verbal and written), in a positive and professional manner. Demonstrates the ability to teach in a formal and informal setting, with individuals as well as groups. Maintains current certifications and competencies. Actively participates as a member of Leadership (includes participating on a team and various committees). Responsible for annual review process of staff. The Director facilitates the growth and development and empowerment of personnel by functioning as a leader, mentor, resource person, negotiator, coach and counselor. The Director displays positive support for the mission and values or RMC. Provides and supervises care delivered to all age groups: adolescent, adult and geriatric.
III. Degree of Supervision Required: Minimal. Individual proceeds on his/ her own initiative, in compliance with the philosophy, policies, procedures and practices of Rose Medical Center. Collaborates/ coordinates with their direct report..
IV. Orientation Period: Minimum of two weeks. Contingent upon experience
