Advanced Practitioner-Breast Medical Oncology

Cancer Care of WNC is recruiting an advanced practitioner for the growing Mission Cancer Care breast program and medical oncology services.

Cancer Care of WNC, in collaboration with Hope a Women's Cancer Center, is currently seeking an advanced practitioner to provide medical oncology and survivorship care in collaboration with Dr. Rachel Raab at the Hope facility. The position will be full time, Monday through Friday and include benefits. The primary goals for the role will be to provide up to date, evidenced based care to a shared group of breast cancer patients with Dr. Raab as well as provide pre-treatment education and post-treatment summaries for patients receiving treatment in the adjuvant and survivorship setting. The strong skill set for the position includes: physical assessment, critical decision making, base knowledge of oncology, communication skills and the ability to facilitate care and education for patients in emotional distress.

Cancer Care of WNC is a medical oncology/hematology practice that provides medical oncology services for the Mission Cancer Program. Hope A Women's Cancer Center is a multi-disciplinary care clinic that offers surgical, medical oncology, radiation consultation, imaging, and survivorship care to women with gynecological and breast malignancies. Cancer Care of WNC (CCWNC) began a collaborative relationship with the Mission Breast Program and Hope in 2015. The Breast Program, led by the medical directorship of Dr. Rachel Raab has continued to grow and develop services for women at high risk for and with breast malignancies.

As an affiliate of Mission Hospital, Cancer Care of WNC and Hope have access to support services (dietitian, social worker, PT) through the health system. Cancer Care of WNC is staffed with an experienced and collaborative team of 11 physicians and 13 advanced practitioners. The collaborative team at Hope includes 5 physicians and 4 advanced practitioners with an infusion suite adjacent to the practice. Cancer Care of WNCW is seeking an energetic and experienced oncology advanced practitioner to team with Dr. Raab to provide care for breast cancer patients in the medical oncology setting at Hope.

Criteria for the position:
  • One year or greater of experience as an oncology advanced practitioner preferred


  • Experience in breast oncology care preferred


  • Strong communication skills with patients, colleagues and community
