Job Description

Job Summary: The Collection Representative is primarily responsible for speaking with patients to collect payment on balances dues and establish payment arrangements. This position will screen patients for Medicaid eligibility and assist patients in completing Patient Financial Statements and making application for discounts available under the Health Systems' Financial Assistance and Charity Care policy. Additional responsibilities include identifying when patients have insurance coverage that is not on file, updating patient accounts for billing insurance.

Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred Education: Associate's Degree. Related work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required License: None

Preferred License: None

Required Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in customer service, collections, hospital, or medical office setting. Education may be considered in lieu of directly related work experience.

Preferred Experience: Two years of business office, insurance, billing, or collections experience in the healthcare setting.
