Then this program aide position may be perfect for you! CarePartners PACE day center is looking for dynamic employees who enjoy providing care and engaging in meaningful activities with our seniors.

Role Summary:

The Program Guide in is expected to exhibit a positive and supportive approach and attitude in all aspects of the job. He/she must also have good communication skills, exhibit flexibility, patience and the ability/desire to learn new skills.

He/She will feel confident and positive about being in an environment with impaired adults. He/She must also have the ability to handle potentially crisis/emergency situations appropriately and effectively. He/she will be flexible and adaptable to necessary staffing situations at the center as needed and will assist in maintaining the appropriate participant to staff ratios. He/she will participate in the team process as an active team member and will direct issues or concerns about the program directly to his/her supervisor. He/she must also maximize productivity while maintaining high quality.

Program Guides are classified as being a Program Guide I, II, III depending upon how many of the following responsibilities he/she is trained within and routinely performing:
  • Facilitates group/individual participant activities
  • Provides licensed hair care for participants
  • Provides clerical/Administrative support to the program
  • Provides nutritional related support
  • Provides coverage for the front desk/participant entrance
  • Provides duties of Certified Medication Technician
  • Assists participants with showers/baths
  • Provides (Drives) participant transportation to/from the center
  • Provides clinic related support
  • Provides therapy related support

All Program Guides are responsible for assisting participants with personal care needs (showers, incontinence, emptying catheter,dressing, etc….) and for assisting with snack and meals as needed.

Required Education:

High School Diploma/GED required

Preferred Education:

At least 2 years of college credit preferred; BLS (CPR/First Aid)

Required License:

Medication Technician certification required if performing such associated tasks. Cosmetologist license required if performing such associated tasks. North Carolina Drivers License required if performing driving tasks.

Preferred Experience:

Working with impaired adults and/or in the human services field

Working with individuals with cognitive impairment

Working in behavioral health
