Job Description

Job Summary: Provides leadership during all phases of the clinical research process by facilitating the delivery of professional and ethical care for research subjects across multiple clinical specialties. Manages the clinical research project in accordance with all applicable administrative policies, international and federal regulations. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document the care and teaching of research subjects and their families to ensure safety and compliance to the research protocol. Educates and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to plan and implement clinical research related care to participating research subjects and their families. Implements research specific clinical care and interprets relevant clinical data

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education: Master's Degree and certification by recognized national research organization such as ACRP or CCRP

Required License: Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing or one of the compact states as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. CITI training in Human Subjects Protection and certification required within 90 days of hire; BCLS

Preferred License: CCRC or CCRC-eligible; CCRP or CCRP-eligible; ACLS or PALS

Required Experience: Two years acute care hospital experience is necessary. Must possess critical thinking skills, the ability to assess patients, proficiency in organizing resources and establishing priorities, strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to analyze, develop, and maintain efficient office flow and administrative processes, identify and resolve problems, and delegate effectively. Must demonstrate reliability and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Must have a proven record of working autonomously and collaboratively with multidisciplinary team. Must be proficient in computer usage to include word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, electronic mail and internet functions.

Preferred Experience: One year critical care experience or one year experience relevant to research area; 2 years experience with clinical trials. Proven project management skills.
