Role Summary

The CDM & Charge Capture Team Lead is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Charge Description Master and supports and maintains applications that relate to the charge capture and charge reconciliation for all providers and entities within Mission Heath. Continually monitors CDM and assigned applications for optimal and appropriate functionality in regards to charge capture, reconciliation, maximizing reimbursement, and compliant billing. Performs both routine and focused charge audits of various clinical areas across integrated systems to support the ongoing maintenance of the CDM and Charge Capture, assists in developing written coding and/or billing or charging mechanism education and instruction in their use. Provides supporting CDM and Charge Capture analysis for any new system integrations by supporting end-user education, assisting with planning, testing and implementing assigned applications and related technology upgrades. Leads CDM & Charge Capture Analyst team by supporting professional growth, deadlines, and technical accuracy.

Required Education:

Bachelor's Degree or ten years of experience within a Healthcare Revenue cycle setting.

Preferred Education:

Bachelor's Degree in HIM, Business Management or IT related field

Required License:

Coding certification with AHIMA or AAPC, or Cerner Fundamentals graduate with Cerner Charge Services Application education.

Preferred License:

RN or other Clinical license

Required Experience:

8 years' experience in Revenue Cycle related to Charge Capture or Charge Master. Ability to understand and explain the complexities of charge capture as it relates to coding, compliance and regulations, billing, payer contracting, reimbursement and finance. Working Knowledge of Cerner charging applications.

Preferred Experience:

10 years' experience related to Healthcare IT, revenue cycle or revenue integrity and its role and functionality with strong knowledge of CPT-4 and HCPCS, third party reimbursement methodologies and coverage requirements and the revenue cycle process.
