Job Description

Job Summary: The Group Health Insurance Sales Producer will work within the employee health and welfare benefits marketplace to identify, pursue and close new business. The person will work within a demanding work environment to develop and manage an active pipeline through seeking out prospects, calling on potential clients, conducting in depth needs analysis/risk assessments, developing ideas for meeting their needs, presenting information on our capabilities, strategically cross-selling products aligned with clients' needs to win and retain clients' business. The person in this position will be responsible for keeping informed of industry developments, remain engaged in team initiatives and establishing themselves as a partner with current and potential clients to become their trusted advisor.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, emphasis in Business, Marketing, or Insurance.

Preferred Education: Master's degree

Required License: North Carolina Health Insurance License in accordance with Article 33 of the North Carolina General Assembly. You must meet the state's requirements for pre-licensing and licensing. Valid driver's license.

Preferred License: NC Health/Life Insurance license.

Required Experience: 3 years' experience in benefits insurance sales. Proven track record of successful pipeline development, delivery of effective sales strategies and reputation as a client-centric sales professional. Comprehensive working knowledge of principles and methods of selling products; services and value propositions; sales marketing strategies and tactics; pipeline management & cross-selling. Basic PC skills, strong analytical capability, conflict resolution skills and strong verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment. This position will require the willingness to adhere to all principles of confidentiality. This position will require travel to meet with clients and prospects.

Preferred Experience: Experience working with a self-funded health plan provider or a major health insurance carrier.
