Doctor’s Hospital is located in Augusta, Georgia, the state’s second largest and oldest city, and is home of the annual Masters Golf Tournament. Doctors Hospital is nationally known for our Burn Center, the largest in the U.S. We have also been recognized as a top performing hospital by the Joint Commission, Cancer Center accredited by the American College of Surgeons, Chest Pain Accredited, earned the Joint Commission's certificate of distinction for total hip and total knee replacement and spinal fusion surgery, and we are the only CARF accredited facility in our area. We are a level 3 trauma and emergency center.

Doctors Hospital ER is a 26 bed Emergency Department that sees over 60,000 patients annually. It has a Level III Trauma, Pediatric Emergency Room, Primary Stroke Center, and is Chest Pain Accredited. A 20 million dollar new ER is set to be completed in 4th quarter 2018.

The Paramedic under the direction of the Medical Director and Emergency Services Director is responsible for implementing technical procedures and care on all Emergency Department patients safely and effectively. The quality of care and service given will adhere to the philosophy and objectives of the hospital and the department of nursing and will maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice in order to meet the health care needs of patients, and their families. The Paramedic works responsibly, directed by an RN in planning, and performing care for patient(s) in accordance with the physician’s orders, recognized nursing techniques, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies.

Education: Graduate of a paramedic program.

Licensure/Certification: Paramedic license in the state of Georgia; BLS, PALS and ACLS certification required from the American Heart Association. ASLS, CPI, PHTLS and Critical Care paramedic certificate preferred.

Experience: One (1) year of experience required, Two (2) years or more of experience preferred.
