Job Description


A local Savannah company is searching for a Blend Technician. The Blend Technician is responsible for mixing batches of product in accordance with batching and weight instructions. The Blend Technician must ensure specifications are obtained and confirm through appropriate lab tests. Once the batch is completed the Blend Technician ensures that documentation is complete and transfers product so that it is ready for processing. The Blend Technician ensures that blend areas, blending systems, and ingredients are maintained.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Operation of blending, product transfer and cleaning systems
  • Demonstrate accurate measurement abilities of ingredient quantities
  • Add ingredients to the blending system in accordance with approved blending instructions
  • Accurate documentation of all appropriate material information and appropriate forms
  • Operation of material handling equipment (Lift Truck & Pallet Jack) as needed in support of blending process
  • Basic Troubleshooting of blending systems
  • Basic Preventative Maintenance of blending systems
  • General support of production and quality as assigned by leadership

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and/or verbal procedures or instructions
  • Ability to learn basic keyboard and data entry skills
  • Basic math skills; demonstrate use of accurate weight and measures
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Demonstrate excellent personal hygiene habits
  • Ability to work safe in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to operate forklift and pallet jack
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitiously and the ability to kneel, bend over, squat, stoop, and carry

Education and/or Experience:
  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • Previous food manufacturing experience a plus
