Ideal candidate is a proven leader both tactically and strategically who can play a vital role in developing the Human Resources Analytics and Reporting team. The Director will assist in the formulation, articulation, and deployment of the HRG Analytics Strategy. Key responsibilities include providing guidance on toolset selection to fit business requirements and ongoing analysis of new and/or competing technologies. The Director will oversee the implementation of new technologies and ensure we are leveraging existing technologies where applicable. Knowledge of current reporting and data warehouse technologies such as Business Objects, ArcPlan, EssBase, Teradata, and Tableau are preferred. The incumbent needs good communication and interpersonal skills, and will be interfacing with a number of people at many levels of the organization throughout HR, IT&S, Clinical Services Group, and Performance Improvement.

The Director of People Analytics will be responsible for the following under the direction of the AVP:

  • Initiate broad strategy for HR Business Intelligence that includes project intake, visualization tools, quality assurance, and branding
  • Partner with colleagues and customers to achieve meaningful discussions regarding data outputs and feedback on usage activities to improve HR output
  • Create a stable data environment for HR
  • Improve upon current reporting standards by providing new functionality including canned reports, dashboards, predictive analysis, emailed reports, and mobile reporting capability
  • Extract data from primary sources reliably
  • Gain expert knowledge of some HCA data architectures
  • Develop expertise in working with clinical, operational and financial data
  • Hold discussions and prepare materials for colleagues and superiors, lead debate and problem solving, build consensus
  • Form discussions groups and lead meetings on topics; encourage and seek out opinions within and beyond team
  • Use formal methodologies to understand and solve complex problems
  • Determine root causes and apply the scientific method to test, validate and reformulate hypotheses, and form recommendations
  • Compare and synthesize multiple sources, bearing accuracy, omission and error in mind
  • Treat change and new situations as opportunities for learning or growth
  • Focus on the beneficial aspects of change and speak positively about the change to others

  • Other duties assigned as necessary to support HR and the enterprise

  • Undergraduate degree is required

  • A minimum of 3+ years in a similar role is required
  • Experience leading a team while building analytical programs from scratch is highly desired
