Job Description

To oversee the daily operation of all areas relating to the guest experience for Front Desk and PBX.
To oversee all systems and controls aspects of the Front Office.


o Ensure registration cards are completed.
o Ensure all needed reports are run.
o Communicate with all department managers on a continuing basis. Especially the communication with Night Audit each evening/morning.
o Handle all guest complaints maintaining a satisfactory impression with the guest on resolving any complaints.
o Be very familiar with the hotel computer system for training maintenance and trouble shooting.
o Complete weekly supply inventories to ensure adequate pars of such.
o Complete rate discrepancy report and make needed changes.
o Ensure the timely completion of current day's reservation assignments with Rooms Control and Housekeeping.
o Ensure the assignment of applicable arrivals for the following day; i.e. VIP's, ESP's, Special Requests, etc.
o Prepare group information sheets.
o Complete check-out with balance report.
o Complete credit check daily.
o Adhere to all Systems & Controls of the Front Office and appropriate areas of responsibilities.
o Assure knowledge and training of Marketing Programs of company and hotel.
o Understand all emergency procedures.
o Understand all radio codes.
o Ensure 1 hour per associate of documented training happens every month
o Ensure representation at the Safety and Sensory Advisory Board Meetings.
o Conduct appropriate number of MOS Checklists for each associate every month.
o Conduct a monthly department meeting.
o Monthly review of AAA Standards with all associates.
o Ensure incentive program is running effectively.
o Ensure all items on the SOP review are handled in a timely manner.


  • Previous Supervisor or Management experience in Front Office.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
Working Environment:
  • Interior and on occasion exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
  • May require working overnight shift.

  • Printer, Copier/Fax Machine, Radio, Nextel
  • Computer Skills (Synergy, Nucleus, Epitome, Vision, Kronos, GoConcierge, Microsoft Office)
