Job Description

Location : 330 Ridgefield Ct, Asheville, NC 28806
Hours : 8:30 - 5:00 Mon - Thurs; 8:30 - 6:00 Fri
Ensures all mortgage, commercial and consumer loans have appropriate insurance coverage. Force places blanket insurance when appropriate. Responsible for assuring that computer system insurance information is accurate and complete. Processes payments on escrowed accounts for hazard, flood, PMI and life insurance policies. Monitors the renewal of insurance policies on all non-escrowed accounts. Follows-up on departmental customer correspondence and phone inquiries. Assists with other various departmental duties.
Job Requirements :
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Two year degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Minimum two years data entry and customer service experience required. Previous experience in insurance, real estate or mortgage lending office preferred.
Specific Job Functions:
  • Sorts and processes incoming mail pertaining to insurance payments.
  • Accurately updates hazard, flood, PMI and life insurance policies across all three loan systems.
  • Identifies coverage inadequacies and works with customers and insurance agents to resolve the deficiencies.
  • Monitors various reports to identify and resolve expired insurance policies, thereby minimizing the bank's exposure for potential loss.
  • Corresponds with insurance agents to ensure payments are made accurately and timely.
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of checks to the various insurance companies.
  • Assists customers in understanding payment changes occurring in conjunction with their escrow analysis.
  • Helps to serve customers with questions related to the general servicing of their loan.This might include, but is not limited to, payment processing/inquiries, history interpretation, year-end reporting, adjustable mortgage questions, draft/debit/credit card processing, etc.
  • Assists with quoting loan payoffs, preparing written confirmations as required.
  • Participates in the department rotation of various morning and afternoon responsibilities.
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment.Able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Makes recommendations to improve processes.
  • Contributes to building positive team spirit.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
Knowledge/Skills Required :
  • Proficiency with personal computer, including all MS Office applications, and calculator.
  • Ability to understand, and use Bank policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Exceptional organization skills.
  • Ability to prioritize duties and work independently.
  • Ability to meet designated deadlines while remaining flexible to changing assignments.
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively.
