Job Description


Salary: $25.00/hr.

Purchasing Coordinator

Reports To: Production Supervisor

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Purchasing products and services for production to ensure that such products and services conform to the specified requirement MRP software is used to control suppliers, purchase product to jobs and communicate receiving instruction to our receiving department.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  1. Negotiates or renegotiates, and administers contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives.


  1. Locates and arranges for purchase of goods and services necessary for efficient operation of organization.


  1. Formulates policies and procedures for bid proposals and procurement of goods and services.


  1. Analyzes price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.


  1. Prepares purchase orders or bid proposals and reviews requisitions for goods and services.


  1. Directs and coordinates workers'' activities involving bid proposals and procurement of goods and services.


  1. Evaluates and monitors contract performance to determine need for changes and to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.


  1. Arbitrates claims and resolves complaints generated during performance of contract.


  1. Maintains and reviews computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, delivery, product performance, and inventories.


  1. Confers with personnel, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determines corrective action,


SUPERVISORY DUTIES

In accordance with applicable policies/procedures and Federal/State laws, may perform the following supervisory responsibilities: Interviewing, hiring orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. NONE

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The following are the minimum qualifications, which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.

Knowledge:

- Equivalent of bachelor''s degree and 8 year(s) progressively responsible position in purchasing, related experience

Skills/Abilities:

- Ability to analyze complex data and develop innovative recommendations and solutions

- Excellent planning, organizing, and project management skills

- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

- Strong customer, quality and results orientation

- Trained in standard operation procedures, and ISO 9001

- Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across divers cultures

- Ability to be and effective team member and manage various projects

- Ability to assist in facilitating progressive change
