Job Description

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 DOE

Manufacturing Plant in Lodi, CA is seeking Plant Supervisor. The successful individual will be responsible to handle all plant floor activities such as the products manufactured are of the highest quality while using the most cost effective methods, maximize productivity output using manpower, machinery and raw materials while ensuring safety and environmental waste conservation to achieve the plant goals and, enforces & adheres to all elements of the Management Operating System (M.O.S.).

Principal Responsibilities
  • Ensures a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Performs necessary administrative functions related to the position.
  • Enforces & adheres to all plant health, safety, & environmental programs.
  • Manages staff activities to ensure that the products manufactured daily meet quality and budget as set by the daily schedule. Identifies performance and quality issues and formulates action plans to rectify problems as variances occur.
  • Prepares operating reports to summarize production, downtime and variance performance by machine and shift in the production area. Provides performance measures, which will enable the management to identify performance and downtime issues. Relay any significant change or variance to the Plant Manager.
  • Conduct shift meetings daily to communicate the production schedule, priorities, expectations and safe work practices and receive feedback from employees on any maintenance needs, safety concerns and general discussion topics.
  • Attend daily operations review meeting to review the previous day performance, identify variances, and determine appropriate action.
  • Responsible for the back flushing of production.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate Bill of Materials and Routings for all items produced.
  • Responsible for providing cost estimates on new and special order items.
  • Responsible for daily shipping and receiving activities.
  • Manage employee performance by conducting routine One-to-One meetings and conduct Annual Performance Reviews.
  • Review job descriptions annually with direct reports.
  • Will be required to function in other capacities as directed by the Plant Manager

Requires Skills/ Qualifications
  • A four year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Management or similar type degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a position with direct reports
  • Excellent leadership/management skills
  • Excellent written & verbal communication
  • Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting and project management skills
  • Strong working knowledge of computers using word processing, spreadsheets and Outlook
  • Experience with plastics and/or fittings fabrication is a plus.
