Position Summary: The Nurse Director provides leadership through planning , organizing, coordination, monitoring, and evaluating the care provided for patients. Responsibilities include fiscal, human resource, risk management, operational functions, strategic planning, and development of staff. Maintains 24 hour accountability. The Nurse Manager performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care at Rose Medical Center. The Manager displays positive support for the values and mission of Rose Medical Center.

Position Requirements:

Licensure/Certification/Registration: RN License in the State of Colorado. Compact license acceptable but must obtain Colorado state license within 90 days of hire. Current BLS certification through American Heart Association and NRP certification.

Education and Training: Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and Masters Degree in health related field preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years clinical experience required. Previous management experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates understanding of health care from an organizational system perspective. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the nursing process. Demonstrates the ability to plan and provide for the care of the newborn population. Ability to recognize the needs and concerns of people and to maintain constructive relationships in dealing with them. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Participates in counseling and guidance of personnel. Ability to assume twenty-four hour responsibility for integration of patient care. Recognized personal responsibility in striving for innovative health care delivery that meets contemporary needs and assumes leadership in negotiating for changes in health care.
