Accounts Payable Specialist

We have an immediate opening for an experienced and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist.

The candidate must be a quick learner and a self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

**Microsoft Dynamics or SAP experience preferred**

Job Responsibilities:
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Matching, coding and entering vendor invoices
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
  • Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing invoices
  • Prepare weekly check runs according to approved check run reports
  • As necessary, set up payments as Check, ACH or Wire
  • Assist in month end closing, including meeting month end deadlines per closing schedule
  • Provide audit support when necessary

Job Requirements
  • 2-5 years prior work experience in an accounts payable role
  • Critical thinking, root cause analysis, problem solving skills required
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quickly and accurately
  • Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as the ability to utilize many internet based programs in an efficient manner to perform internet searches
