St. David's South Austin Medical Center is an acute care facility with 316 beds, offering a range of complex specialties and sub-specialties, including a nationally accredited oncology program with the area’s only adult bone marrow transplant program; a trauma program that includes all of the capabilities and programmatic elements of a Level II trauma center to treat the most severely injured and critical patients; a comprehensive cardiac program; full-service maternity and newborn care with Level I and II nurseries; and two full-service emergency centers in the communities of Bee Cave and Bastrop


In collaboration with the Trauma Center Medical Director provides for the overall coordination of the Trauma Center Strategic Planning, Regulatory Compliance, Performance Improvement, and Registry aspects of the Trauma Center at SAMC. This includes strategic planning, marketing, coordinating, evaluating, and promoting the Trauma Center. There shall be evidence of strong communication and collaboration with SAMC leadership, medical staff and nursing staff as well as the Texas Department of State Health Services, the Capital Area Trauma Regional Advisory Council (CATRAC) and the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma (COT).



Registered Nurse license by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. If compact license held, RN is required to obtain a Texas RN license within 90 days of their hire date.


MBA, MSN or master in Disaster prep or ability to obtain within 3 years
3-5 years of nursing in a Level I or II Trauma Center.
