Data Quality Manager - Medical City North Hills

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supporting Advanced Clinicals - Computerized physician order entry (CPOE), Meditech physician documentation (Pdoc), Patient Keeper notes, nursing evidence based clinical documentation (EBCD) as well as other clinical applications. The position is responsible for the initial end user training in the use of Advanced Clinicals and ongoing provider and nursing educational support to ensure adoption and integration. The DQM is responsible for coordinating the completion of project assessments, quality of data input by users, verification of appropriate sign off of orders within the computerized system and as a resource to the Director of Advanced Clinicals. This individual will work with facility, division and corporate peers to ensure Advanced Clinicals data is correct and appropriate and meaningful use is achieved throughout the facility.

  • Manage unsigned orders in MEDITECH concurrently and post discharge.
  • Manage unsigned PDoc and Patient Keeper notes concurrently.
  • Manage incorrectly signed and rejected orders in MEDITECH concurrently and post discharge.
  • Collaborate with physicians to correct erroneous PDoc or Patient Keeper entries or supervise physician assignment in MEDITECH or Patient Keeper.
  • Resolution of complex issues and requests escalated from the division service desk or other division or facility service resources.
  • Acts as a liaison to clinicians, physician level providers, and the HIM to collaborate for resolutions at the source of data quality issues.
  • Establish data integrity auditing process.
  • Participate in training activities for Advanced Clinicals. Assists the DAC in planning and completing individual training objectives for all user groups. Assist the DAC with retraining providers on the EHR.
  • Provides initial orientation to Advanced Clinicals for all new and existing providers; to include elbow-to-elbow rounding support.
  • Identifies and reports system or build issues that negatively affect adoption and/or performance.
  • Assist the DAC in the process improvement of improving usage of electronic health record (EHR).
  • Ongoing monitoring of various Advanced Clinicals usage trend reports. Identify gaps/areas of opportunity and develop action plan to address areas of concern.
  • Participate in clinical review of order sets and protocols.
  • Assists testing and training for new Advanced Clinicals - new clinical application releases and functionality.

Medical City North Hills:

We opened on Sunday, May 7, 1961 as Glenview Hospital. The current facility at 4401 Booth Callaway Road was opened in 1983 and renamed Medical City North Hills. Medical City North Hills has 164 beds and is a Level IV Trauma Center.

Education :

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or in progress
  • Clinical degree preferred
  • Current RN license required

Experience :

  • Minimum of two years of experience working with an Electronic Health Record system preferred

  • 1 year teaching/education experience; i.e. precepting, mentoring, in-service provision, in a clinical environment preferred

  • Understanding and proficiency with medical terminology
