GENERAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for correctly entering confidential patient demographic and insurance information into electronic billing programs.

DUTIES: (included but not limited to)
  • Review daily eligibility report, update any discrepancies preventing accurate claim submission.
  • Help desk for physicians' offices, answers questions related to insurance eligibility.
  • Designate the order in which insurances are to be billed.
  • Maintains alerts and actions in eCW insurance verification status and billing inboxes.
  • Identify and correct responsible party designation.
  • Works with management to accurately update the insurance master table.
  • Works with manager to update yearly training guide for insurance changes.
  • Collaborates with management on front office presentations and presents to front office staff semi-annually

  • Interpersonal skills - able to work effectively with other employees, patients and external parties.
  • PC skills - demonstrates proficiency in PC applications as required.
  • Policies and Procedures - demonstrates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systems.
  • Basic skills - able to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, punctuate properly, spell correctly and transcribe accurately.

  • Must demonstrate a high degree of interpersonal skill with co-workers, physicians and patients
  • Familiar with third party billing requirements and payment policies.
  • One to two years billing in the health care field is required.
