Job Summary
Carolinas HealthCare System's Information & Analytics Services – mHealth department seeks an experienced technical architect to design, develop, and support digital patient engagement solutions. The position requires actively managing simultaneous commitments between project architecture and software engineering. Must be able to communicate technical concepts to business users.
Essential Functions
  • Manages time with multiple projects and works independently.
  • Clearly communicates technical concepts with business users.
  • Documents technical processes and maintains system documentation.
  • Balances architectural requirements with software development.
  • Intellectually curious about new technologies.
  • Proactive in problem-solving.
  • Able to manage vendors, issues, and resolutions.
  • Shows flexibility in assignments and willingness to work in other areas of Mobile Health team.
  • Completes assignments according to standards and in a timely manner.
Physical Requirements
This position is subject to high-level visibility through exposure to CHS administration. Work duties will require high degree of proficiency in verbal and written communications. Must be available for call-back support on a regular basis. Work requires during conversions and/or training extensive evening and weekend hours. Must be able to lift objects that weigh up to 35 pounds.

Education, Experience and Certifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or job related field preferred. 8 years experience installing and supporting sophisticated information systems in a health care environment utilizing client/server technologies. Advanced knowledge of job related systems such as Unix, Linux, Window; proficient in script writing preferred. General knowledge of networks and TCP IP protocol. Formal training in a variety of information systems technology preferred.  The ideal applicant will have: SQL/TSQ, C# .NET Web Services (Web API/WCF) and Windows services; mobile app development; systems design and integration; HL7/ previous healthcare IT experience. Familiarity with FHIR and SMART on FHIR healthcare interoperability standards is desired.
