Job Summary
Stocks unit and prepare tools needed to perform vaginal deliveries. Performs receptionist/secretary duties and scrubbing for cesarean deliveries.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinates the multidisciplinary activities required to provide the highest standard of care for the perioperative patient.
  • Performs scrubs for cesarean delivery and neonatal circumcision.
  • Prepares and passes instruments, sutures, sponges and supplies needed in the operative procedure and maintains correct count.
  • Performs phlebotomy functions as directed by RN.
  • Delivers patient specimens to lab.
Physical Requirements
This position works inside with occasional intermittent noise and exposure to conditions such as dust, fumes and chemicals. Handles equipment and monitors supplies. Strenuous physical effort will require to walk, stretch, bend, climb stairs, twist, squat and kneel while performing multiple tasks. Requires frequent use of side vision, lifting, pushing and pulling of more than 75 pounds. Must have the use of both hands and fingers for gripping, speed work and precision during the operation of the computer and accessories. Vision and hearing for distances up to 20 feet is required, depth perception and able to distinguish basic colors. Must speak English fluently.

Education, Experience and Certifications
High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an approved Nurse Aide I Training with current listing with the NC Division of Facility Services or graduate of an approved school of Surgical Technologist with valid diploma or current certification as a Surgical Technologist required.
