General Summary:

The ARNP or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:
  • Performs physical examinations of patients; evaluation and treatment of injuries or illness of patients with GI related conditions in the clinic setting
  • Responsible for seeing patients on a rotating basis between Apopka, Winter Garden and Orlando sites
  • Treating patients with various conditions related to the full scope of the digestive system, liver functions and esophagus
  • Will be expected to see patients independently in clinic and will also see patients collaboratively with supervising physician
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc
  • Monitors the patient's course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician supervisor and staff, as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
  • Displays a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
  • Candidate must be able to pass a third party background check and pre-employment drug screen

Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Candidate must be energetic, self-directed and willing to learn

Required Education/Experience:
  • Experience as an ARNP or PA-C in GI or Internal Medicine
  • Experience with Inflammatory Bowel Disease
  • Master's degree in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant studies

Preferred Education/Experience:
  • Previous GI experience (as ARNP or PA) strongly preferred
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:
  • Current, valid Florida ARNP or PA-C license
  • ANCC, NCCPA (or equivalent) certification
  • Current BLS and ACLS
