Clerical Support Specialist - Center for Behavioral Health - Orlando
Florida Hospital Orlando seeks to hire Clerical Support Specialist who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Job Summary:
The Clerical Support Specialist coordinates and processes all legal paperwork of patients undergoing involuntary treatment. Provides clerical support to the Psychiatric Admissions Team in verifying insurance and payer mix within the Center for Behavioral Health (CBH) and assists with Allied Services clerical duties and dissemination of regulatory paperwork requirements. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, follow and execute tasks within deadlines
  • Scheduling flexibility; ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Ability to type 20 wpm

Job Responsibilities:

  • Processes daily all legal forms for patients undergoing involuntary treatment in accordance with the Florida Baker Act Law, maintains Baker Act tracking log and spreadsheet and sends expiring alerts to the Clinical Team and CBH Leadership up-line.
  • Participates in weekly meetings with Operations Manager or designee.
  • Mass faxes to prospective placement options. Disseminates compliance information to patients, including but not limited to, Important Message from Medicare, Baker Act legal paperwork, and Patient Satisfaction Surveys. Delivers mail and business items to various departments.
  • Clerical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: filing, faxing, typing letters, scheduling in-service presentations, verifying patient and insurance information, creating event flyers, coordinating and organizing departmental events and initiatives, and scheduling aftercare appointments.
  • Provides data entry and maintenance of metrics, dashboard and scorecard as identified by Senior Director or designee.
  • Maintains daily reports and court dockets on involuntary patients.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
