We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a HR Compensation Specialist position that will be based in our HR Shared Services department. This position is based at our solutions center in Altamonte Springs, FL.

The Compensation Specialist is an individual contributor supporting Adventist Health System's Compensation Administration function. This person is responsible for the administration and communication of employee compensation, including job analysis, evaluation, documentation, benchmarking, and creating communications for internal and external use.

Specific job duties include:

  • Market prices all jobs annually or as requested by the Center of Expertise (COE). Conducts market pricing by using the appropriate survey sources, scope criteria, and survey job matches. Assigns the appropriate salary grade based on the market pricing and provides completed market data to COE for additional analysis.
  • Coordinates all market adjustments and merit increases with HRIS for upload into PeopleSoft. Communicates timely to Talent Acquisition changes to salary grade assignments to ensure that all current offers are updated.
  • Responsible for the compensation calculators which includes creating new calculators, updating monthly and/or after the finalization of market adjustments and sharing with Talent Acquisition as appropriate.
  • Reviews job code requests to determine if current job codes can be leveraged; Reviews job description, performs benchmarking analysis to assign salary plans and grades, and sends final recommendation to the Human Resource Business Partner for review and approval.
  • Reviews new or revised jobs to determine the appropriate exempt or non-exempt classification in accordance with federal regulations.
  • Reviews, processes and communicates salary actions in accordance with policy; Actions may include, but are not limited to, merit increases, promotions/demotions/transfers, premium plans, special market adjustments, ad hoc compensation adjustments, and payments for mass processing.
  • Works with Talent Acquisition for wage offers in comparison to market data and salary plans.
  • Serves as an information source regarding pay practices and policies; Provides guidance to managers on routine compensation decisions for employees, policy and guideline interpretation, and job evaluations.
  • Coordinates communication between Payroll and Talent Acquisition teams regarding job code and position changes.
  • Maintains facility job descriptions to ensure they are complete and in proper format. Acts as a point of contact for requesting and reviewing job descriptions.
  • Maintains documentation of all activities related to compensation.
  • Tracks, updates, and closes cases and requests within the case management tool.


Qualifications:

Experience Requirements:
  • One year of experience in the administration of compensation programs required
  • Experience in a Shared Service environment preferred




Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or an Associate's degree plus two years of work experience within a Human Resources team environment required


Technical Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, specifically Excel
  • PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) experience strongly preferred
