Job Summary
Assists and coordinates strategic planning and goal setting for the Center for Pre-hospital Medicine. Utilizes consultation, evaluation, facilitation, curriculum development, and instructional skills to develop educational support strategies for the Center. Assists in research opportunities within the center.

Essential Functions
  • Defines needs and conducts surveys to analyze data for use in educational priority setting.
  • Assists with OSHA and other safety related education or TJC standards.
  • Coordinates the development of curriculum and guidelines for educational programs.
  • Writes articles, reports, manuals, handouts, and self-directed learning materials.
  • Assists with orientation of classes, workshops, and courses.
  • Reviews, critiques, or edits multimedia instruction.
  • Plans and teaches basic and advanced skills sessions.
  • Assists in the design of tests, educational tools, and QA and QI to measure the effectiveness of educational interventions.
  • Performs advanced physical and psychosocial assessments.
  • Identifies areas for audit or investigational study, conducts appropriate research, and disseminates results of investigational studies.
Physical Requirements
Requires walking, standing, sitting, and lifting of heavy training equipment. Must speak English and have intact sense of sight and hearing. Requires frequent contact with all levels of personnel and public while working in a clinical, classroom, or office setting. Must be mobile within the entire System, as well as able to make frequent trips to Medic, CPCC and other facilities in the region. Must be able to work flexible hours.

Education, Experience and Certifications
Associates Degree or equivalent education and training, in nursing or allied health required. Bachelors Degree preferred. 5 years experience in a clinical field required. NC or National Registry Paramedic required. NC or SC RN license preferred. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA required. ACLS and PALS approved AHA certification required. PHTLS/BTLS preferred. Ancillary instructor certifications in BCLS, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS/BTLS within 2 years required. Experience with instructional design, curriculum development, classroom teaching, outcomes measurement and group facilitation preferred. Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and path physiology, as well as understanding regional, state, and national rules governing all levels of EMT performance.
