Florida Hospital Winter Park seeks to hire Marketing Strategist who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Job Summary:
The Marketing Strategist - EMS (MSEMS) establishes, develops, and manages the relationships between hospital administration and ED staff and local/regional/state Emergency Medical Service (EMS) agencies. The MSEMS works with the Director of Business Development, Director of the Emergency Department, Cardiology and Stroke service line leaders, and Marketing to increase Emergency Medical Service, Cardiology, and Stroke market share. Identifies and alleviates issues that may affect the delivery of health care as well as the hospital's relationship with EMS providers. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic marketing/business plans
  • Superior relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work well in stressful situations
  • Understanding of EMS and/or Emergency Department processes
  • Ability to listen to, empathize with, and respond to patient, family, internal and external partner needs
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to display a positive attitude
  • Knowledge of marketing processes (Preferred)
  • Associate's degree in nursing, paramedic or business-related field AND
  • Two years of related experience (nursing, paramedic or business-related field) OR
  • Five years related experience (nursing, paramedic or business-related field)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing, paramedic or business-related field (Preferred)


Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
  • Current valid State of Florida license as an EMT, Paramedic or RN
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification


Job Responsibilities:
Demonstrates through behavior Florida Hospital's Core Values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship and Teamwork as outlined in the organization's Performance Excellence Program
  • Establishes overall EMS outreach including:
  • Acts as a liaison and maintaining a positive relationship between the hospital and area EMS providers
  • Serves as an advocate of the hospital with local, regional and state EMS agencies
  • Works with local EMS agencies and medical directors to facilitate performance improvement and quality review
  • Promotes special care capabilities of the hospital to local EMS providers
  • Develops the marketing plan for EMS Week and other marketing initiatives throughout the year
  • Ensures hospital compliance with Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other regulatory organizations concerning EMS agencies, students, equipment and supplies
  • Provides reports and statistics to hospital leadership concerning EMS issues
  • Develops and provides recommendations to hospital leadership on how to improve relationships and build loyalty with local EMS agencies
  • Manages EMS relationship development, implementation and marketing activities including:
  • Works with Director of Business Development, Director of the Emergency Department, Cardiology and Stroke service line leaders, and Marketing to increase ER, Cardiology, and Stroke market share
  • Facilitates planning process and implementation activities with hospital leadership
  • Resolves conflicts/complaints that arise between EMS providers and the hospital
  • Develops and grows hospital/EMS collaboration projects and business opportunities
  • Ensures service line quality (e.g., processes, services and satisfaction) align with facility/division and national quality standards and best practices
  • Participates in other key areas that directly impact service line performance:
  • Disaster preparedness - assists with hospital disaster planning, training and equipment purchase; assists as liaison between hospital and public safety agencies
  • On-campus emergencies - assists with planning and response to on-campus emergencies (e.g. visitor emergencies) and may provide direct patient care within scope of license
  • Identifies inefficiencies in the Emergency Department (ED) that, after being addressed, could result in improved processes and ED-based metrics
  • Markets and brands
  • Assesses market-level intelligence for insight regarding competitors and consumers
  • Local travel/working in the field expected 40-50% of the time
