Hospice of the Comforter, with administrative offices located North of Orlando in Altamonte Springs, is seeking a full time Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) Nurse Manager (Registered Nurse) who will be responsible for the management of an interdisciplinary team of clinical and support staff who provides hospice and palliative care to an assigned case load of patients.


Provides overall direction of the operations related to assigned interdisciplinary team.

Maintains knowledge and communicates to staff regarding policies and procedures required to comply with federal, state and local guidelines as well as Medicare, Medicaid and insurance reimbursement requirements.

Develops, implements, and evaluates IDT team goals and objectives.

Conducts weekly interdisciplinary team meetings to review and ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.

Acts as a liaison with physicians regarding clinical issues, to recertify patients and to take orders, when the case manager is unavailable.

Acts as a liaison with family members to address questions, resolve problems, or counsel regarding end of life expectations, when the case manager is unavailable.

Accompanies staff periodically to evaluate performance and knowledge and lend expertise and guidance to improve subordinate skills.

Promotes and markets Hospice of the Comforter by meeting with management in the community in order to ensure customer satisfaction and to increase referrals.

Directly manages Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Social Workers, Chaplain.



Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing, Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is Required.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred.


A minimum of 3 years of skilled nursing experience including hospice and/or home health care nursing is required. In addition, a minimum of 1 year supervisory experience is required.

Certificates and Licenses Required:

A clear/active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.

Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse Certification is preferred.

Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (i.e. HomeWorks).­­­­
