Data Integrity Specialist - Revenue Cycle Operations - Maitland - Part Time
Maitland seeks to hire Data Integrity Specialist who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Job Summary:
The Data Integrity Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the medical record through coordinating resolution of quality issues and maintaining oversight of the chart quality process. The Data Integrity Specialist is responsible for effective communication with patients and the healthcare team regarding resolution of requests for HIPAA Amendments. This position must effectively collaborate with physicians, clinical and hospital leaders through effective communication, reporting, and data tracking. The employee must adhere to the Florida Hospital policies and procedures and to all rules and regulations of applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:
  • Professional attitude and conduct, initiative, critical thinking and good judgment skills; ability to make effective recommendations

  • Windows and Microsoft Office skills with ability to effectively use Excel
  • Associate of Science with emphasis in Health Information Technology or actively pursuing a degree in a healthcare related field. (Preferred)
  • 1-3 years' experience in an acute care setting (Preferred)
  • Three years' healthcare management or quality control experience (Preferred)
  • Leadership skills (Preferred)
  • Progressive professional growth (Preferred)

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
  • N/A
  • RHIA or RHIT credential by AHIMA or another healthcare field related credential (Preferred)

Job Responsibilities:
Demonstrates through behavior Florida Hospital's Core Values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship and Teamwork as outlined in the organization's Performance Excellence Program
  • Investigates and resolves quality issues identified during the document imaging process to improve the integrity of the patient record. Provides resolution of errors through effective collaboration with contributing departments, physicians, nurses, and clinical leaders.
  • Provides education to clinical leaders regarding errors to mitigate future errors.
  • Effectively tracks and trends chart quality error data on a continual basis.
  • Develops reports and presentations regarding chart quality issues for presentation to department leadership, clinical and hospital leaders.
  • Responsible for processing patient HIPAA Amendment requests for all hospital campuses to include communication and correspondence with patient. Collaborates with healthcare team regarding resolution and response to patient HIPAA amendment request.
  • Consistently provides excellent service to patients and internal hospital and department customers in processing requests for error correction.
  • Assists management team in additional duties and compliance initiatives including response to RAC requests.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of employees, patients, administrative staff and functions, and medical staff information with no infractions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
