Job Summary

Working closely with population health leadership, this position is responsible for strategy and execution of population health analytics around value based programs including but not limited to: ACOs/CINs, shared savings programs, care management programs, APMs, bundled payment programs, and others. The manager will: lead, develop, and engage collaborative work teams; supervise and mentor professional staff; and develop and execute work plans. In addition, the manager will be expected to proactively identify opportunities for and deploy new data-driven customer solutions that direct strategy and improve quality of the business.

Essential Functions

· Define and track key performance indicators and quality outcome metrics to measure performance against goals/benchmarks
· Consult and analyze on more complex projects for business partners to scope and implement solutions.
· Define, design, and develop interactive dashboards and other automated reporting in Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, SAS/R, and Business Objects
· Identify and recommend process improvements to reduce inefficiencies and improve accuracy of workflow and data transfers.
· Provide data analysis to identify trends and patterns in business areas using SAS or comparable statistical software
· Develop analytics strategy utilizing a variety of data sources including: billing, claims, enrollment, referrals, authorizations, pharmacy, EMR, P4P, CMS, survey data, etc.
· Test and validate new data solutions to ensure accuracy.
· Communicate effectively with operational stakeholders and senior leadership in the business.
· Lead a complex, highly-skilled team of analysts
· Manage projects and customer relationships
· Partner with senior leaders (SVP, EVP) to assess needs, define business questions, translate business questions into analytical questions, and translate analytical results into business solutions
· Write, depict and present deliverables in a logical, clear, and concise manner for various audiences within and outside of the System
· Influencing senior leaders to act based on analytical insights
· Develops, directs, facilitates, and applies specific methodologies for the following types of projects:
· Quantify value/ROI and develop scientifically valid methods for utilization/cost avoidance resulting from performance achievement and improvement
· Program evaluation
· Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of care
· Payment innovations (e.g., bundled payments, shared savings, ACOs) and their impact on quality and cost of care
· Healthcare service planning and business valuation
· Demonstrates thought leadership by acquiring and maintaining industry and market intelligence on local, regional, and national healthcare issues impacting the System
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. This position is subject to high-level visibility through verbal and written communications with senior hospital management, associated project deadlines, personnel evaluation, and counseling. Must be available for on-call support on a regular basis. Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Education, Experience and Certifications
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field preferred. Must have formal training in Information Systems Technology, Desktop applications, Software Development packages, programming languages, SQR, Crystal, Unix AIX. Candidates with primarily an educational background should have information systems employment experience of 4 years with the information systems technology mentioned above is preferred. Must be a service-oriented, team player. Must have experience in Health Care Industry minimum 2 years. Communicates proactively, cooperatively and constructively. The ideal applicant will have experience in developing Population Health Strategy; healthcare payor analytics; advanced analytics including SAS/R/other data mining tools, SQL, and data visualizations; computer programming; and healthcare claims, pharmaceutical, and EMR.
