We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Assets and Projects Accountant position that will be based in our Finance Shared Services department. This position is based in Altamonte Springs, FL.

The Assets and Projects Accountant is responsible for maintaining asset management and project costing modules and handling transactions throughout the asset management and project costing process, which includes performing asset additions, maintaining assets, retiring assets, depreciating assets, project setup and monitoring

Specific job duties include:

  • Assists Senior Accountants and Accounting Manager in making adjustments and journal entries as needed within the system for multiple business units (could be over 100 business units) in a shared service environment
  • Assists with review of project data, classification of transactions and project costing reporting
  • Responds to requests submitted by multiple business units in order to set up and maintain projects and associated budgets
  • Executes asset and project transactions such as additions, disposals, depreciation and valuation adjustments
  • Assists manager in ensuring compliance with company fixed asset policy and accounting standards, including capitalization thresholds, bond tagging and valuation adjustments; proposes new or changes to existing policies to enforce standardization and efficiency across the organization
  • Researches and corrects errors in recording asset and project activities
  • Performs period end close activities for assets and projects
  • Troubleshoots issues, communicates, and escalates as appropriate
  • Reconciles the balance in the asset and projects subsidiary ledgers to the summary-level accounts in the general ledger
  • Coordinates and liaises closely with other shared services and ERP, facility finance and materials management, and Corporate Finance team members
  • Supports internal and external audit activities
  • Responsible for adhering to established internal controls
  • Participates in continuous improvement processes within asset management and project costing including identifying needed system modifications and process changes by working with other shared service, ERP, facility and Corporate Finance teams
  • Achieves superior customer satisfaction working directly with internal and external customers
  • Available outside of normal business hours for occasional support needs
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department


Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • New graduate to candidate with one year of experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Preferred)


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent degree from a four-year accredited university or college
