Job Summary
The Senior Marketing Manager position is responsible for leading a team that develops and executes strategically designed marketing plans that successfully build awareness of Carolinas HealthCare System's brand and primary care services in the community.

Essential Functions
  • Serves as the marketing lead for primary care and on-demand care services, with a heavy emphasis on direct-to-consumer/B2C strategies.
  • Develops strategic and measurable marketing plans for an entire business unit that takes into account the overall system strategy along with the business goals and objectives of the service line.
  • Draws conclusions and makes recommendations based on industry and market trend analysis.
  • Able to understand and recommend the optimal internal and external levers to pull as well as opportunities and risks to achieving goals.
  • Proactively seeks input from experts and external sources when developing recommendations. Offers innovative solutions to achieving objectives and overcoming problems.
  • Directly leads a team of marketing professionals. Supports a culture of teamwork, learning, innovation, and accountability. Coaches and inspires teammates to achieve professional, developmental goals.
  • Conducts performance-based discussions and able to articulate strengths and opportunities for further development. Listens to others' ideas and seeks wise input. Addresses and confronts performance issues.
  • Seeks out opportunities to develop skills and become a better leader and coach. Proactively solicits feedback.
  • Independently manages relationships with senior levels of clinical and administrative service line leadership.
  • Consistently offers a well-informed, clear point of view on system-wide initiatives and understands the interplay of system-wide strategy with service line goals and objectives.
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships and be seen as a trusted partner and marketing expert among business unit leaders.
  • Exhibits excellent written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Able to present complicated information and ideas clearly and concisely. Confidently and clearly articulates business opportunities and risks.
  • Able to educate and inform others about marketing and communications strategies and tactics as well as business drivers, barriers, key performance indicators and return on investment.
  • Superb organizational skills with the ability to oversee the management of multiple people and projects in a fast-paced environment. Able to prioritize work appropriately to ensure that team is able to execute on plans.
  • Maintains high standards of quality and attention to detail while balancing need to be on time and on budget. Ability to take large, complex initiatives and break down into small steps.
  • Evaluates department processes to ensure optimal efficiency and accountability and makes recommendations when improvements are needed.
Physical Requirements
Works primarily in office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work. Position requires walking around campus and/or other facilities. Must be able to drive and have access/use of a personal vehicle. Requires reading materials, speaking clearly on the telephone, and operating computer keyboard. Occasional lifting of documents or supplies.

Educational Experience
Bachelor's degree in a related field such as business, communications or marketing and 5-8 years of experience in marketing or business development required. Master's degree in business, communications or healthcare preferred. Seeking candidates with at least 3 years of people leadership experience either directly or cross-functionally.
