Financial Manager - Provider Compensation

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Financial Manager Provider Compensation interacts with Florida Hospital Medical Group (FHMG) CFO, members of the FHMG leadership team and Florida Hospital (FH) leadership and finance team members to provide relevant, accurate and timely financial information particularly related to Physician and Provider Compensation. The FM coordinates the development, implementation and deployment of strategic information that will have a financial impact or improvement opportunity within the organization. These financial impacts include but are not limited to revenue, cost, efficiency of process and productivity.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Ad hoc reporting for the FHMG leadership team
  • Review and monitor financial metrics on a routine basis (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Present financial and trended statistical data on a routine basis both orally and written
  • Documents all compensation plans and procedures and maintains the FHMG current compensation philosophy statement which will be periodically reviewed and approved by FHMG governance
  • Coordinates an annual analytical review and readjustment (if necessary) of each employed provider's pay structure in order to deliver a fair market value (FMV) plan that also meets Commercial Reasonableness (CR) Testing
  • Works with AHSPE in CR Watchlist activities and coordinates reporting and monitoring of Action Plans and Community Service Provider (CSP) Reports
  • Produces twice annually a CR Watchlist and FMV Watchlist Report for FHMG Leadership
  • Acts as a liaison with external fair market valuators and will furnish requested data to perform FMV analyses


  • Assists in physician search efforts by communicating compensation philosophy with potential candidates in an effort to meet the strategic initiative of recruitment
  • Proactively identifies opportunities and recommends options for standardizing and / or improving the accuracy of physician compensation metrics and calculations
  • Works with senior leadership and providers to provide financial analysis which will help inform the budget process, acquisitions, service line development, etc.
  • Oversees provider compensation calculations and impact of possible achievement levels of performance targets
  • Develops, calculates the financial impact and support process improvement/actionable information at all levels of the organization which includes, but is not limited to, business plans and strategic opportunities
  • Mentorship and training of team members at FHMG
  • Executes procedures and process of the department and the organization
  • Effectively manages all aspects of assigned projects with FHMG leadership
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned or directed


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Ability to influence change, clarify ambiguity, and mobilize team members at all levels in the organization for meaningful action
  • Ability to work in a project-oriented, fast paced environment to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and managerial skills
  • Ability to compile and analyze financial information on trended data for financial decision making
  • Excellent computer skills including e-mail, word processing and spreadsheets using Microsoft software platforms
  • Excellent communication skills in all formats
  • Provides mentoring, training and development assistance to Financial Analysts

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or a business-related field
  • 1 year of experience in healthcare industry finance/accounting and/or 3-5 years of overall experience in Finance/Accounting/related field

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
  • Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting or a business-related field
  • Experience in the healthcare industry Finance/Accounting environment
