Job Summary
We are seeking a psychologist to serve as the on-site clinician for two of our family practice sites in Harrisburg & Mt Pleasant.  This position is a part of the CFM-Division of Behavioral Health.  The provider will need to offer a broad range of services including: consultation, brief testing/screenings, brief counseling, motivational interviewing, crisis management & triage, individual, family therapy.  Strong skills as a generalist across the lifespan, particularly in geriatrics apply.  Skills in working within a medical facility and with chronic disease states are preferred.  The candidate should be NC licensed, have strong interpersonal and computer skills, basic knowledge of psychopharmacology and a comfort in working in a fast-paced medical environment. Working in this environment, the provider can be expected to strive to improve patient access to behavioral healthcare and improve the flow of communication between behavioral health and medical providers.

Essential Functions
 
 
  • Provides behavioral health/psychological services to medical patients.
  • Provides consultation to medical faculty and the medical community regarding behavioral health and psychological issues regarding patient care.
  • Maintains medical records; such as pre-certification reports, initial and follow-up contacts, clinical summaries, and psychological evaluations.
  • Maintains documentation and data reporting practices; such as time sheets and provides other such documentation/reports as assigned.
  • Supports, promotes, and actively participates in division wide provider meetings.
  • Provides timely evaluations and feedback of resident performances as requested.
 
Physical Requirements
General clinic environment with limited exposure to pathogens, blood, and body fluids. Environment is climate-controlled with occasional exposure to inclement weather. Appropriate physical/mental health and stamina to tolerate rigors of sitting for prolonged periods as well as mental stress and prolonged work hours. Frequent commutes to the family practice centers.

Education, Experience and Certifications
Doctoral and/or Masters Degree in Psychology required. All appropriate licenses and certifications to provide clinical services. Psychologist with a minimum of two (2) years, full time clinical experience in behavioral medicine preferred. Teaching experience in a family practice residency program. Experience in consulting with multidisciplinary teams of allied health care professionals. BLS HCP from AHA required.
