Job Description

To maximize revenues for Kempinski Hotels through direct sales, marketing and designated activities specifically towards North America Leisure & Entertainment Sales accounts on the US West Coast.

The job of the Global Director, Leisure & Entertainment Sales, North America (West Coast) is executed satisfactorily when:

  • Revenue Targets from the agreed key account portfolio and geographical area are achieve d.
  • The Objectives are achieved that have been agreed within the annual Personal Sales Plan.
  • A strong network and relationship has been achieved with accounts that have the potential to contribute to the economic success of Kempinski Hotels.
  • There is clear communication and information on key accounts provided for all hotels and offices.
  • Correct and comprehensive data on accounts is recorded with SFA.


  • To manage the leisure & entertainment key account base (Consortia, Tour Operators and Travel Agencies, Studios, etc) within the assigned territory of North America West Coast.
  • Identify new Managed Accounts through Market Intelligence and Leads.
  • Develop and manage effective business plans for the assigned segment.
  • Develop the agreed account portfolio to achieve the business objectives.
  • To analyse every account with regard to additional business opportunities, need structure, decision and booking patterns.
  • Assist in the negotiation of Brochure Contribution Fees, Marketing Funds and Incentives.
  • To negotiate conditions and to contract defined accounts on behalf of all Kempinski Hotels
  • To assist in the enforcement of the key Clauses in the Leisure contracts.
  • To monitor market trends and provide leadership and education to all relevant Kempinski Hotels.
  • Work closely with the Directors of Sales & Marketing to effectively communicate new trends and develop strategies to maximise revenue.
  • Initiate, coordinate and participate in educational trips to Kempinski destinations prioritizing Key Hotels
  • Arrange and conduct customer sales presentations during Sales calls (joined and individual).
  • Organization & participation in Soirées, Exhibitions, Trade Fairs, Joint Sales Call dates and Telemarketing activities throughout the year
  • Promote the Kempinski Brand and individual Hotels during Partner Road Shows within and outside of the Sales region
  • To communicate new promotions ideas to respective hotels in an efficient, professional and accurate way.
  • The ability to offer assistance to need hotels and new openings by producing individual activity plans as and when required.
  • Close cooperation with sales support in regards to general administration and office administration tasks.
  • Be responsible for the budget within the Leisure & Entertainment Segment.
  • Maintain accurate reporting of sales activities and revenue achievements as required by the VP Sales in the monthly report.
  • Ensure accurate and current product knowledge of Kempinski Hotels at all times to facilitate effective sales communication.
  • To portray the highest possible standard of both personal and company image when representing Kempinski Hotels.
  • To identify and use Kempinski Hotels promotion and sales pipelines with industry partners.
  • To build up good relationships with our key marketing partners in the various regions (i.e.: Airlines, Tourism Boards etc.)
  • Participation in regular GSO meetings, Regional Sales meetings as well as Office Meetings.
  • To participate in trainings as per training schedule.
  • Assist in the collection and reporting of quarterly figures in revenue and room nights for assigned Key Accounts
  • Handling Client issues and resolving them in conjunction with the Hotels.
