This position supports the mission of Rose Medical Center of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The therapist/ dosimetrist , under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist, with the direction of the department supervisor and physicist, performs a physician prescribed simulation for radiation therapy treatment, treatment planning and calculations for external radiation of brachytherapy and assists the physician with patient care. The radiation therapist/dosimetrist must know and utilize radiation safety techniques, as well as assist in employee and student training. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or eligible for certification. AMD certified preferred.
Graduate of AMA approved school of radiation therapy technology, certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or eligible for certification.
Previous experience in radiation oncology is preferred with dosimetry experience. -Develops and assists with the administration of radiation therapy treatment plans in collaboration with the medical physicist and radiation oncologist
-Assists with or performs the application of specific methods of dosimetry
-Assists with or performs the fabrication of beam modifying devices and immobilization devices
-Graduate of an accredited medical dosimetry program, certified as a Medical Dosimetrist by Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)
-Pinnacle experience preferred
-Mosaiq experience preferred
Skills commensurate with the formal training received. Must be able to operate the simulator and planning computers and treatment machines.
Degree of supervision required: Involves general guidance and direction by the Director of Radiation Oncology. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
