Phlebotomy Experience!!

JOB SUMMARY : Registers patients, collects payments (when applicable), confirms insurance coverage, obtains insurance certification; accurately interprets and implements test request thorough order entry. Demonstrates technical skill in performing specimen collection. Represents the hospital and department by serving as an interface between the client (patient, physicians, nursing, etc.) and the laboratory technical areas. Performs a variety of venipuncture techniques involved in the collection of blood specimens from patients for laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

REQUIRED EDUCATION : High school diploma or GED, participates in personal professional development



PREFERRED LICENSE: ASPT or ASCP certification preferred

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE : Minimum one-year previous experience in a hospital lab, clinic, or physician lab experience preferred. Receptionist background preferred.
