Job Summary: Represents the hospital and department by serving as an interface between patient care providers and the laboratory testing areas. Assists the department by verifying patient demographics, billing information, physician orders and entering this information in the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Ensures proper patient care by receiving specimens in the LIS and routing to the appropriate testing area. Workstations include accessioning, specimen runner and problem resolution.

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education: Medical terminology

Required License: None

Required Experience: None

Preferred Experience: 1 year clerical
